THANKSGIVING 2008

Thanksgiving...

A time for:
reflection of God's blessing
gathering with family and friends
preparation for a big day to do so
FOOD!

This year, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Crosbys at their home in Lee's Summit along with many others. Attending were: Mike and Vickie Crosby (host and hostess) and their children, Will, Matt, and Jenn; Michael and Wanda Thornton and our children, Coen and Lindsey and our furry child, Sandie; Don and Sonya Crosby, their children Tracey McCullough, Chris McCullough (son-in-law), Garret, Ashton, and Wyatt and their two grandsons (Blayne and Reece); Gayle Thornton; Jeff Ellis and his sons, Kelsey, Jerry, and Carter; Shelly and Jared Hoyt. A total of 25 eaters, I mean, guests and hosts.

The meal...oh, so good!

Fried Turkey
Ham
Dressing and Mashed Potatoes with gravy
English Pea Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Apricot Brandy Sweet Potatoes
Curried Fruit Bake
Pistachio Salad
Orange Fluff Salad (because the Ellises are eating more salad!)
Jellied Cranberry Sauce
Homemade Whole Cranberry Sauce
Rolls
Pecan Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Pistachio Bread
Pumpkin with Raisin Bread

The Crosby home looked phenomenal!

Who said work couldn't be fun?

Prior to eating, the kids played pool, XBOX, basketball and outside (the weather was incredible, 70's and partly cloudy!) The adults orchestrated the meal, met new people, visited, laughed and giggled, ate relish tray and dips, and took lots of photos!Wyatt in a game of pool
