LINDSEY LOVES CORNFLAKE

Lindsey loves cereal, always has. But her love for Corn Flake, the corn snake, has taken awhile to acquire. While her brother always loved the bizarre, different, and not-so-well-liked animals, Lindsey has always been a puppy and bunny kind of gal.

Last fall, she blessed Coen by cleaning Corn Flake's cage. And since that time, has become more and more intrigued by this reptile. For Christmas, she gave Coen a gift certificate good for a year's worth of cleaning his snake cage and has already begun her commitment.
To look at her now, you wouldn't know that just a month ago was the first time she really touched Corn Flake, much less hold him.

Stories about Corn Flake:
Corn Flake is Coen's snake, a corn snake. We like the way all that sounds.
He was missing for a month when he was much smaller. He had manuvuered his way out the cage by forcing the screen open between the clamps...he was very strong! Coen was devastated while he was gone. It was a relief to find him at the opposite end of the house in the basement just so we didn't have to be on the look out for him. Of course, Michael was the one who found him, the one who is least fond of him...ok, he doesn't like him at all. When we put him in his cage again, he literally lapped up the water in his water bowl like a dog...one month without food or water!
In 2004, Coen did a science project about the snake's jaw and their ability to eat food much larger than themselves. Coen even built a replica of the jaw using wood, rubber bands, and hinges. The project featuring Corn Flake himself was displayed at Good Shepherd Academy and earned Coen an "A".

LUKE, 2008-2009 Quizzing

Luke has been the book studied, memorized for this year's quizzing. Twenty four chapters with the smallest chapter having 31 verses and the largest having 80; 1150 total verses!

Coen took chapters 4, 5, 8, 14, 15, and 18...for a total of 249 verses!

What Coen sees when he is studying!
PRACTICE!
All the Summit Bible Quizzers on Tuesdays from 4:30 til 6 pm, getting practice jumping and practice thinking on their feet!

Eric B and James Gossell, both members of WHEATIES.
James has been on RIVEN, the top Summit team for Nationals, which placed 2nd last year.
James finished at Nationals in the #1 spot!
He's been a huge encouragement to Coen in his quizzing!

Thomas Gossell, a previous RIVEN quizzer, volunteers time for practices during breaks as well as at Quiz Meets on Saturdays when he can.

QUIZ MEETS Coen's team, MACH. Matthew Schilling and John Peycke.

At the end of the day, MACH is in 3rd place and quizzing against WHEATIES on the left and KIBBUTZ, from Columbia, MO on the right.

Some say debate-like...some argue it's more drama-like!

HONKERBEAN'S MEMORIES

Just having some honkin' fun memories...

Honkerbean's Coffee & Gelato opened in October 2005. Serving 100+ specialty drinks and over 70 flavors of gelato, we added sandwiched in March 2007. In February 2008, we sold to Keith Calipetro and he created an Italian heaven in our shop!

Since we sold the shop, we have hosted one employee CINNAMON ROLL DAY. We will do that again, folks, cuz it was just too much fun seeing all of you at one time again!

Lovingly called BOSSMAN

Serving customers was a value Michael pushed for...he'd always say, go the extra to delight the customer. Tristan was so focused on customer care that she would have drinks ready when they walked in based on seeing their car driving down the street from the stoplight.

Bryce and Emily serving customers

Jessica serving the boys, Will, Coen and Matt...just family, not customers!

The meeting room at Honkerbean's was a place of business and entertainment, meetings and parties. But the one common thread to it all was the great food and drink!

Vickie's 40th surprise birthday party in 2007 was done on a concert night. Serenaded in Frank Sinatra music, she paraded past all the customers and into a more intimate setting of the meeting room where friends and family awaited her. We served a mexican fiesta dinner and had cake and gelato for dessert.

Coen's 16th surprise party-nearly 50 attendees for another mexican feast!

Tristan and Wes were there
The Paxtons, the Gossells, Byron W, Cody C, Nathaniel and Noah W, Hailee and Jordan V to name a few!
