LINDSEY LOVES CORNFLAKE

Lindsey loves cereal, always has. But her love for Corn Flake, the corn snake, has taken awhile to acquire. While her brother always loved the bizarre, different, and not-so-well-liked animals, Lindsey has always been a puppy and bunny kind of gal.

Last fall, she blessed Coen by cleaning Corn Flake's cage. And since that time, has become more and more intrigued by this reptile. For Christmas, she gave Coen a gift certificate good for a year's worth of cleaning his snake cage and has already begun her commitment.
To look at her now, you wouldn't know that just a month ago was the first time she really touched Corn Flake, much less hold him.

Stories about Corn Flake:
Corn Flake is Coen's snake, a corn snake. We like the way all that sounds.
He was missing for a month when he was much smaller. He had manuvuered his way out the cage by forcing the screen open between the clamps...he was very strong! Coen was devastated while he was gone. It was a relief to find him at the opposite end of the house in the basement just so we didn't have to be on the look out for him. Of course, Michael was the one who found him, the one who is least fond of him...ok, he doesn't like him at all. When we put him in his cage again, he literally lapped up the water in his water bowl like a dog...one month without food or water!
In 2004, Coen did a science project about the snake's jaw and their ability to eat food much larger than themselves. Coen even built a replica of the jaw using wood, rubber bands, and hinges. The project featuring Corn Flake himself was displayed at Good Shepherd Academy and earned Coen an "A".
